CCFE News
CCFE convenes successful Cooperative Wood-to-Energy Forum. On May 31 in Madison, WI, CCFE co-hosted an international exchange between a high-level delegation from Austria and leaders in forestry and renewable energy in Wisconsin. Co-sponsors include Cooperative Development Services, the Biomass Energy Resource Center, Cooperative Network, and the Austrian Embassy in Washington, DC.

Featured speakers included:
- Hermann Schultes, Speaker for Environment and Renewable Energy in the Austrian Parliament and President of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry in Lower Austria
- Hans Kordik, the Counselor for Agriculture and Environment at the Austrian Embassy
- E.G. Nadeau, Cooperative Development Services
- Pam Porter, Biomass Energy Resource Center
- Scott Bagley, Center for Cooperative Forest Enterprises
The forum showcased the Austrians' work in making their country a world leader in the field of wood-to-energy, and was part of an ongoing interchange between CCFE and Austrian leaders in wood energy and cooperative development following Scott Bagley's visit to Austria in Summer 2010 (see below).

Learning from Austria
In June 2010, Scott Bagley of CCFE and Bob Parker from Oregon State University Extension toured Austria for several days back in early June to learn about innovations in wood-based biomass and cooperatives.
